A new report published by Barclays Wealth and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), entitled “The Entrepreneur in Adversity”, reveals that the Middle East and Africa is the fastest improving region for entrepreneurship over the last 10 years. This is followed by Asia Pacific, while Europe came last in the ranking.

The global survey – the seventh report in the Barclays Wealth Insights series – polled almost 1,000 entrepreneurs asking them to assess the improvement and deterioration of nine factors, such as regulatory environment and availability of talent, in their respective regions over the last 10 years. They also identified the key motivations and characteristics of being a global entrepreneur.
