SARAH KIRBY

By Rasika Sittamparam

The past twelve months have been supported by ‘very strong markets which have defied a lot of people’s expectations’, says Kirby.

‘The important thing is to look behind those headlines and take the emotion out of investing,’ says the seasoned divisional director. ‘We need to reassure them we are able to diversify their portfolios well enough to weather whatever potential outcomes may arise out of political change.’

Kirby also notes a move away from conventional asset allocation benchmarks, with volatility as a key indicator. Kirby explains: ‘It liberates you – it means you’re not stuck in the old-fashioned view of having portfolios allocated by geography.’
