Neil Patrick Harris is an American actor, producer, singer and director who has an estimated net worth of £24 million.

Neil Patrick Harris was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 15, 1973. Harris’ talent for acting was first noticed by playwright Mark Medoff who cast him in Clara’s Heart in 1988. The debut earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

Harris then starred in Doogie Howser M.D. (1989-1993), earning another Golden Globe nomination and later starred in the 1995 film Animal Room, while donning supporting roles for the films Starship Troopers (1997), The Next Best Thing (2000) and Undercover Brother (2002). He also starred in NBC’s Stark Raving Mad (1999-2000), and TV movies such as Snowbound: The Jim and Jennifer Stolpa Story (1994), My Antonia (1995), The Christmas Wish (1998), Joan of Arc (1999), The Wedding Dress (2001) and The Christmas Blessing (2005).

Then came his critically acclaimed role as Barney Stinson, with the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother (2005-2014), raking in $225,000 per episode alongside successive Emmy nominations (2007-2010).

In 2008, Harris performed for the Web musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and soon went on to win an Emmy in 2010 for his guest performance in the musical Glee.

His starring roles in films include Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004), Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008), A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011), The Best and the Brightest (2010) and the $368 million box office grosser Gone Girl (2014).

Harris voice-acted for animations such as Batman: Under the Red Hood (2010), Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010), The Smurfs (2011) and The Smurfs 2 (2013).

He has also had an active career on Broadway, performing in the musical Sweeney Todd (2001), the drama Proof (2002), a critically acclaimed role in Cabaret (2003), Stephen Sondheim’s musical revival of Assassins (2004) and Sondheim’s Evening Primrose and Company (2011). Harris’ starring role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch won him a Tony in 2014.

He also ventured to the other side of the stage as director of Rent (2010), a rock musical production, and The Expert at the Card Table (2011).

He has hosted the Tony Awards (2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013), the Emmy Awards (2009 and 2013), the Spike Video Game Awards (2010) and the 2015 Oscars in February.
