Job vacancies in London’s financial services industry have spiralled since the credit crisis began last August, says a report from recruitment firm Morgan McKinley.

The City had 3,780 unfilled financial jobs in November, down 59 percent from last year, while competition for openings also rose strongly, with twice as many candidates as positions.

A surfeit of recently laid-off bankers is hitting the London job market, causing those in their current roles to rethink their options.
