Justin Timberlake’s net worth is estimated to be £120 million. He became a music sensation when he entered the industry at 22.
Born in 1981, Timberlake spent most of his childhood at Shelby Forest, a small village community. As an adolescent, he developed a keen interest in pursuing singing as his profession.
When Timberlake was 11 years old, he received an offer to appear on the TV talent competition show Star Search as a contestant. Although he was knocked out by his opponent, he went on to appear on The All New Mickey Mouse Club in 1989, alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling.
In 1995, when Timberlake was 14, he joined pop band ‘N Sync. The band’s first album, NSYNC, received an overwhelming response in the United States and sold at least eleven million copies.
‘N Sync’s second album, No Strings Attached, also sold 2.4 million copies in the first week of its release.
With the release of the band’s third album, Celebrity, Timberlake and his band members achieved cult status as the album sold nearly 50 million copies across the globe.
In the early 200s, Timberlake began working on solo material and released his first solo album, Justified, in 2002. The album was an instant success, reaching the second position in the US Billboard 200 chart. Over seven million copies of Justified were sold in the first week and reportedly fetched Timberlake $10m.
In the same year, he commenced the Justified tour, through which he earned $45m. The star earned a further $6m from McDonalds for the I’m Loving It single deal.
The Justified tour continued until 2003, with Timberlake making a reported $45 million through ticket sales. But the pop star’s success journey didn’t stop there. Timberlake went on to release his second solo studio album FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006.
Selling over ten million copies worldwide, the album reached the peak of the US Bill Board 200 and fetched $15 million in record sales. He earned a further $41.6 million from a world tour, which commenced the same year.
In 2009, Timberlake made $20 million from the sales of his previous albums. His earnings through tours in 2012 reached $20 million.
2013 also proved to be fruitful for Timberlake when he released The 20/20 Experience, which sold nearly three million copies and fetched $69.75 million in profits.
Timberlake also acted in various movies, including Bad Teacher and Friends with Benefits. He played Sean Parker, the founder of Napster, in the acclaimed film The Social Network (2010), and was also the protagonist of In Time, a science fiction film by Andrew Niccol.
Timberlake has been linked with Britney Spears and Cameron Diaz in the past. He is married to actress Jessica Biel. The couple reside in Canada.
