After attending Alexandra College, Hughes studied a Computing and Multimedia college course for two years of before dropping out and interning at KARORA Cosmetics for a few months in 2011.
Hughes modelled for Arnotts and Hollister, and later worked as a marketing assistant at Dynamic Marketing. At 19 years old, she signed to Assets Model Agency and joined Andrea Roche for a few years before returning to Assets Model Agency. She is also a former Miss Ireland finalist.
Hughes worked as a hostess at Dandelion nightclub in St Stephen’s Green, Dublin before moving to Vancouver to film Exiles, – a series produced by Fade Street makers Straywave Media, following seven young hopefuls trying to land exciting new careers in Canada. However, the show was postponed indefinitely.
