Luxury new-build One St John’s Wood is set to open with two coveted penthouses and more than 100 apartments, starting at £1.2 million
A rare luxury new-build development of modish apartments is opening in one of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods this autumn.
Developer Regal London has enlisted internationally renowned architect Squire & Partners along with acclaimed interior design studio Angel O’Donnell to shape the look of One St John’s Wood’s penthouses.
Sitting next to Regent’s Park and overlooking Lord’s Cricket Ground, the development is reminiscent of the finest five-star hotels.
The affluent Westminster stomping ground of Kate Moss, Paul McCartney and Damian Lewis, St John’s Wood offers winding residential lanes with a secluded quality that belies their proximity to the bustle of Baker Street.
One St John’s Wood has 112 luxury apartments, but it’s the two penthouses that will likely remain the development’s crowning jewels.
Their interiors offer a homely environment that ‘soothes the senses’ by matching plushly-padded furnishings with more regimented geometric fittings.
Each room is brought to life with striking sculptural elements, in a subtle nod to the playful mish-mash of architectural styles found in the wider neighbourhood.
From the living room’s iconic Marenco sofa to the kitchen’s handmade pendant light, every feature adds an artisanal edge.
A complementary homeware collection in the suites is the work of Burma-based ethical luxury brand Kalinko.
Key pieces in the collection include a striking cane and a wooden handcrafted chair, made from reclaimed Yangon teak.
Marble kitchenware has been hand-carved by a family in Sagyin, to the north of Mandalay.
Squire & Partners has also designed the scheme’s exceptional suite of private residents’ facilities.
These include a spa and wellness centre with a 20-metre swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym facilities and a sauna and steam room.
Meanwhile, an opulent 14-guest private dining room in the development comes with its own kitchen.
There are business and club lounges, a muted cinema room and roof terrace looking out across the capital and Lord’s Cricket Ground.
A secure underground car park comes with valet parking and a 24-hour concierge.
Buyers with £1 to £2 million to spend on a central London apartment are likely to snap up the luxury pads in this desirable residential area, just five-minutes’ drive from Bond Street.
