Leica Camera Ltd has announced that it will open a second London-based store at premium shopping destination, The Royal Exchange, in the heart of the City of London, on Monday 5 October 2015.
Following the success of its Mayfair store in Bruton Place, W1, Leica is expanding its retail presence with this new outlet – known as Leica Store City – enabling customers in The City of London to experience the German brand’s full range of high quality photographic and optics products, as well as providing access to the company’s services, such as its Akademie creative photography workshop programme.
The Royal Exchange, with its stunning architecture, is situated between Bank underground station and Threadneedle Street, just a few minutes from the Bank of England. The highly desirable location is considered the third most architecturally important building in London after St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of London. Boasting more than 30 prestigious boutiques, it is renowned for its wealth of luxury retailers curated especially for the discerning shopper in The City.
Jason Heward, managing director, Leica Camera Ltd, said, ‘The Royal Exchange is a natural “second home” for Leica, with its rich heritage and prominent position. We are different from other photographic brands, and it is important for us to create beautiful stores in locations where our customers like to shop. At The Royal Exchange, we will offer the ultimate customer experience; a destination where customers can engage in a conversation with the brand. Our stores are places where new and existing Leica owners can meet our team of experts, and discuss how to become a better photographer by using the best photographic products.’
Joanna Lea, associate at Oxford Properties and retail asset manager at The Royal Exchange, said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Leica to The Royal Exchange. The heritage of the brand, together with its luxury credentials and its ongoing collaborations with premium fashion brands, offers a natural fit with The Royal Exchange and its prestigious neighbours as we seek to widen the occupier mix at the scheme.
‘Leica is one of many new brands that we are working with this year, which we’re confident will add a complementary offering to the luxury products currently available at The Royal Exchange.’
In addition to displaying the entire Leica product portfolio, Leica Store City will be a place where customers can view photographic exhibitions and attend exclusive events on-site.
Customers will receive a warm welcome from store manager, John Murphy, and his team when the Leica Store City opens on Monday 5 October at 10.00am.
