Quilter has added former HSBC Private Banking head Chris Meares as a non-executive chairman, in the second round of appointments following its acquisition by private equity firm Bridgepoint

Quilter has added former HSBC Private Banking head Chris Meares as a non-executive chairman, in the second round of appointments following its acquisition by private equity firm Bridgepoint.

Meares (pictured) was until recently group chief executive officer (CEO) for global private banking at HSBC, working in London and latterly Hong Kong, and retired at the end of 2011.

He has been taken on board following Bridgepoint’s acquisition of Quilter from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney at the start of April.
