Richard Ellison

By Spear's

Richard Ellison set up online-only merchant Wanderlust Wine after ten years in finance to offer top-drawer wines from lesser-known producers. Its focus is on sustainability: all its wines, sourced directly from producers, are organically farmed, organic or biodynamic. ‘Provenance in food and wine has become more and more important,’ he says. ‘People are much more passionate about it and interested to explore.’

As well as merchant service, Wanderlust also offers private client wine sourcing (including fine and rare bottles) and a curated wine club. It also claims to be the only merchant in the capital able to offer ‘wine on demand’, where bottles can be received on a customer’s doorstop within an hour of placing an order.
