Steve Rowe Net Worth

By Spear's

Mark and Spencer boss Steve Rowe is reported to have a salary of £810,000 plus benefits and bonuses, thus earning him an estimated net worth of millions of pounds.

Born in July, 1967, businessman Rowe became the CEO of Marks & Spencer in April 2016.
Rowe has spent almost his entire career at Marks & Spencer, starting in Croydon working on Saturdays, aged 15, back in 1989.

How did Rowe become a millionaire?

Rowe grew up in Croydon, where his father, Joe Rowe also worked for M&S, where he was head of food, and a main board director.

After working at Mark and Spencer on Saturdays, Rowe joined Topshop as a trainee, at the age of 18, and soon became a Store Manager, but later returned to M&S.
Rowe progressed in a variety of roles within store management, menswear and furniture and held a number of senior positions including director of retail and e-commerce.

He joined Head Office in 1992 as a Merchandiser for Menswear, working across all areas of the Group. In 1998 he became Category Manager in the Furniture Department, leading the team developing the Home Growth Strategy. Rowe was appointed Head of Home categories in 2003, going on to become Director of Home in 2004. Between 2004 and 2008 Steve also assumed responsibility for Beauty and New Business Development.

He was appointed Director of Retail and a member of the Executive Committee in March 2008 and his remit was extended to include E-Commerce in 2009. He was then appointed to the Board in October 2012 as Executive Director of Food before becoming Executive Director of General Merchandise in July 2015.

On 7 January 2016 it was announced that Marc Bolland, who was CEO since 2010 would step down on 2 April 2016, and be replaced by Rowe, Head of Clothing, and previously Head of the Food business.

On 2 April, he became the CEO of M&S.
