The 5th edition of the Trophies of the Eco Club of Monaco, organized by the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) in partnership with the Nice-Matin Group, took place on Wednesday 30 November at the Grimaldi Forum in the presence of HE Serge Telle representing Prince Albert II and more than 350 personalities and Monegasque economic players.
During this ceremony, 6 Trophies were awarded to outstanding entrepreneurs from the Principality. The opportunity to highlight the diversity and excellence of the Monegasque economic fabric.
In his introductory speech, Michel Dotta, president of the MEB, emphasized the admirable success of the laureates who “chose Monaco because it is a great place to live and to undertake on a daily basis because it is a Land of entrepreneurs ” [SIC].

BOUTSEN AVIATION
Trophy awarded by Christophe PINAULT (Member of the Management Board Caisse d’Epargne Côte d’Azur) and Michel PROST-DUMONT (Corporate Director Banque Populaire Méditerranée – Succursale Monaco)
Founded in 1997 by former Formula 1 driver Thierry Boutsen, the company specializes in the purchase and sale of business aircraft. Since its creation, nearly 350 aircraft have been sold thanks to a sales team exclusively made up of training pilots. The range of services offered by Boutsen Aviation is wide: import-export, bareboat rental, commission, brokerage, representation and management of all civil aircraft, intended for an international clientele. The activity also includes decoration and interior design of aircraft.

SAFAS
Trophy awarded by Corinne PIRINOLI (Director of HR and Communication of MONACO TELECOM) and Thierry GARDE (DG SOCIETE GENERALE PRIVATE BANKING).
Founded by the parents of the current leader in 1952, SAFAS specializes in the design, manufacture and marketing of high-tech scientific and medical equipment. Benefiting from a high reliability and longevity, these instruments are aimed at demanding customers and difficult applications, such as nuclear, military applications or pharmaceutical applications.
SAFAS was also rewarded, last year in Paris, by an Innovation Trophy at the LABO & BIOTECH Forum, selected from 76 files by a jury of journalists and scientists.

At its creation in 2008, Nouvelle ERE specialized in the design, construction and financing of photovoltaic power plants. From 2012, the company is taking the turn of the new technologies by developing a service offering dedicated to individuals around the concept of ‘Intelligent Home’. A principle that guarantees the control of the production and storage of photovoltaic energy in an autonomous and eco-responsible way.
Since its inception, New ERE has installed nearly 100,000 photovoltaic panels around the world.

Trophy given by HE Jean PASTORELLI (President Grimaldi Forum) and Axel HOPPENOT (Marketing Director of Monte-Carlo SBM).
Frimo is a trading company operating in the field of agri-food specializing in meat and fish. Born in 1977 in Monaco, Frimo has quickly operated in several regions of the world, particularly Africa, South America and Russia. Beginning in 2014, the company took up a new challenge by conquering Asia, particularly in Japan and China, where fish consumption was very high and the market was very buoyant. A success that today allows Frimo to achieve an export turnover of more than 60 million euros.

Trophy given by Jean CASTELLINI, Councillor of Government – Minister of Finance and Economy.
Since 1956, Conti designs and manufactures high-end espresso machines dedicated to professionals in its factory in Monaco. In 2010, the company was bought out by its senior executives with the help of the Government through the Société d’Aide à la Création et de Développement d’Entreprise (SACDE), which sold its shares 3 years later in view of the success of the transformation. A success that now generates an annual turnover of more than 20 million euros, due in particular to its international expansion and technological innovations. To meet its ambition of excellence, Conti has also accomplished important work on the sensations of taste and olfactory with companies of the region of Grasse.

STAR CLIPPERS
Trophy presented by HE Serge Telle, Minister of State.
Since 1991 Star Clippers has offered travellers in search of authenticity an alternative to mass cruises with superb sailboats faithfully inspired by clippers of the XIX century. The company was founded by Mikael Krafft, a Swedish entrepreneur, a sailing enthusiast and an avid maritime historian. It operates three of the world’s largest sailing ships, Star Clipper and Star Flyer 4-masted schooners and the majestic Royal Clipper rigged into 5 square masts. A fourth ship, inspired by France 2, has been under construction for 2 years and will soon complete. Mikael Krafft’s dream has come true for thousands of satisfied passengers. Stars Clippers has a loyalty rate of 67%, the highest among cruise passengers.
