Anissa Mediouni has been appointed as the new CEO of Engel & Völkers Yachting. “Our focus in 2016 is the recruitment of additional yacht brokers and charter brokers, as well as the opening of new locations,” Anissa Mediouni commented.
She has been working for Engel & Völkers for nine years. Most recently, she held the post of COO managing the E&V Yachting French Riviera Shop in Nice. She now succeeds Bart Boury as CEO of Engel & Völkers Yachting. Until now, Bart Boury had headed up both the Engel & Völkers Yachting and Aviation divisions. From now on his sole focus will be the expansion of Engel & Völkers Aviation.
Expedition yachts are on trend
The service offer of Engel & Völkers Yachting includes independent brokerage and charter services, as well as the management of new constructions and refits. Engel & Völkers is not affiliated with any manufacturer or shipyard, meaning it can provide client consultancy as an unbiased expert. Describing the market’s current development, Anissa Mediouni said, “Compared to the same period in the previous year, the average sale price for yachts sold over 24 metres rose by 19 percent in the first four months of 2016 while the average size increased by 3 percent.” She added: “Expedition yachts are proving particularly popular with buyers.” These are ocean-going yachts with some design features akin to a ship, a long range, and enough storage for long trips to remote areas. They are often equipped for arctic cruising. Additionally, Engel & Völkers Yachting is observing a growing global trend resulting in an increased number of yacht refits.
