Call it a man bag, call it a purse, but evidence suggests that a portrait bag is the must-have accessory this season. The St. Ives in multicolour flat weave from Burberry (pictured) is defined by its portrait shape and its abstract art print, inspired by the worlds and works of Ben Nicholson and Christopher Wood. For a more subtle style, try the Cabas Zippe North/South tote from Saint Laurent. Burgundy
As summer draws to a close, bright and pastel colours are pushed to the back of the wardrobe as we make room for darker, richer tones. Gone are the days when sweatpants were our guilty secret. In fact, in recent years they have become something of a phenomenon. From designers such as Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang, to high street stores such as Zara and Topshop, the sweatpant has returned largely in the form of the harem pant. The latest wool offering from Rick Owens (pictured) features a drawstring waist, a drop crotch and two side pockets. Alternatively, try these ‘baggy trousers’ from Zara.
