If you’re a major 007 fan or even just a model car collector, then you could be in luck. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Goldfinger, Christie’s is auctioning off a 24 carat gold plated replica of Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 – which it expects to fetch upwards of £40,000.
The collectible keepsake has been signed by production designer Sir Ken Adam, who adapted the DB5 in Goldfinger to reflect Agent Q’s modifications to Bond’s car. The 1:3 scale replica also features the same bulletproof shield and revolving number plate as the full-sized auto, as well as radio controlled machine guns.
Created via a hi-tech 3D printing process, this one-off model is similar to the replicas used in 2012’s Skyfall for the scene in which Bond’s DB5 is destroyed by machine gun fire. Rather than destroy a full-size DB5 for the scene, the crew decided to use scale models.

The DB5 has featured in no less than eleven Bond films, first appearing in Goldfinger (1964), which starred Sean Connery in arguably the most iconic instalment in the series.
A first edition Goldfinger book, a 18k gold Seamaster Aqua Terra watch and an original poster for the film also feature in the online only sale, which is in aid of the NSPCC.
Christie’s Goldfinger: the 50th Anniversary runs online until September 17.
