Jon Hamm is worth an estimated £20 million. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 10, 1971.
In 1992, after visiting his friend and actor Paul Rudd in Hollywood, Hamm decided on acting and moved to Los Angeles in 1995.
Hamm got his lucky break in 2000, with NBC’s Providence and then debuted in films with Space Cowboys (2000), followed by Kissing Jessica Stein (2001) and We Were Soldiers (2002).
A TV role in The Division (2002-2004) gave rise to minor roles on CSI: Miami, The Unit, Related, What About Brian and Numb3rs.
In July 2007, Hamm landed a starring role in AMC’s Mad Men.
Hamm received the 2008 Golden Globe win plus SAG and Emmy nominations. He was nominated for the 2009 Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy followed by another Golden Globe nomination in 2010. He also directed two episodes.
For performances in Mad Men (2007-2015) and 30 Rock (2009), Hamm garnered a total of 11 Emmy nominations.
He acted in the £148 million grossing sci-fi The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).
Hamm’s 2010 films included the thriller Stolen (his first lead role), Shrek Forever After and the £99 million worldwide grosser The Town and Howl. He was also signed up by Mercedes-Benz to lend voice to their S400 Hybrid ad campaign.
In 2011, he acted in Sucker Punch, Bridesmaids and produced and starred in Friends with Kids beside girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.
Hamm starred in the 2014 Disney film Million Dollar Arm, lent his voice for The Minions (June 2015 release) and will be starring in A Young Doctor’s Notebook.
He has appeared with Westfeldt in ad campaigns for GAP. Both established Points West Pictures, their own production company, in April 2009.
Hamm, who owns a 2009 Audi S5 and a Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, lives in a 1920s Mediterranean-style house in Los Angeles. He also owns another home in New York.
