Joey Essex is estimated to be worth £6 million.
He stepped into the limelight at the age of 21, when he was cast in a supporting role in the second series of ITV2’s reality soap opera The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) in 2011. He was joined by sister Frankie Essex and two cousins, Chloe Sims and Charlie Sims, who were also part of the show.
In 2011, a single called Reem recorded by the TOWIE cast was released. The cast of the third series were featured in the song Last Christmas which ranked 33rd on the British Charts. TOWIE also won the 2011 BAFTA’s Audience Award. Although Chloe remained, both Essex and his sister quit the series in 2013.
Between 2012 and 2013, he has appeared eight times as a guest on ITV2’s comedy panel show Celebrity Juice.
Essex also participated in the first series of ITV’s diving show Splash!
In 2013, he competed on the 13th series of the reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
The TOWIE starred in his own ITV2’s documentary series called Educating Joey Essex (2014), narrated by Phillip Schofield.
In March 2013, Essex unveiled Joey Essex: D’Reem Hair, his hair products range. That same month he also opened Fusey, his garment store, in Brentwood.
Essex then launched My Girl and Fusey, two fragrances for women and men, in September 2013.
Essex has made guest appearances on Loose Women (2011), 8 Out of 10 Cats (2011), Daybreak (2011 and 2013), The Xtra Factor (2011), This Morning (2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014), The Million Pound Drop Live (2012), Through the Keyhole (2013 and 2014), The Cube: Celebrity Special (2014) and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (2014).
By November 2014, Essex was reported to be worth £1.3 million, which included TV shows and endorsements.#
He is also presenter on his ITV2 show Educating Joey Essex.
Essex appeared and won the second series of Channel 4’s The Jump in 2016. He has also appeared on the Channel’s series, Celebs Go Dating (both series one and two).
