Heesen Yachts has announced the launch of the largest yacht in its fleet to date, the 70m FDHF superyacht Galactica Super Nova. Galactica Super Nova is the biggest yacht built by Heesen Yachts and one of the top 200 largest yachts in the world as well as one of the fastest yachts for her size.
The 70-metre superyacht will reach an impressive top speed of 30 knots, thanks to its Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) and the addition of a third engine to power a booster jet.
Galactica Super Nova’s exterior is designed by Espen Øino and the interior is stylised by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. Galactica Super Nova accommodates 12 guests in six cabins, including a master on the main deck, a VIP on the bridge deck aft and four cabins on the lower deck. The central staircase with a crystal elevator makes the Galactica Super Nova yacht stand out.
Design firm Sabrina Monte-Carlo supplied elegant tableware, stemware and silverware from renowned prestigious manufactures including Hermès, Puiforcat, Robbe & Berking or Christofle. They also added exceptional Objets d’Art by the finest crystal makers such as Baccarat, in keeping with the sober style of the interiors.
‘The owner appointed acclaimed Dutch designer Sinot to create the light, pure and well-balanced interior with a sophisticated equilibrium between monochromic and soft colours.’ Heesen said. With a subtle grey color scheme, Galactica Super Nova received a touch of colour from Sabrina Monte-Carlo with decorative objects in different shades of blue, Sabrina’s trademark color.
‘The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, understated and inviting yet extremely refined. A wide range of leathers – from galuchat to very soft calfskin – form the basis of the interior decor that includes a variety of stones such as calacatta luccicoso and various onyx. The stand-out feature in the interior is the central staircase with a crystal elevator. Steel, nickel, chrome, wood and leather flow together to form a magnificent and grandiose architectural helix.’
In collaboration with Glyn Peter Machin and Espen Oeino, Sabrina Monte-Carlo furnished the yacht with luxurious outdoor furniture. The contemporary character of the furniture, mixing teak, grey lacquer and stainless steel have been enhanced by hundreds of customized decorative cushions. To add comfort to the decks, Sabrina Monte-Carlo selected Paola Lenti to supply built-in cushions made of marine rope, a cutting-edge material resistant to all weather conditions.
Beyond size and speed is efficiency. The opulent Galactica Super Nova embodies luxury on water. The vessel is equipped with a great selection of amenities and water toys, including a tender and quad ski. The yacht’s toys and tenders are housed in the garage located forward, which doubles as a beach club. There is a 13.500 litres pool on the main deck aft with contra flow system for swimming, a waterfall and integrated Jacuzzi for relaxing, while the glass bottom of the pool allows natural light to filter into the beach club below.
Forward on the main deck, a touch-and-go helipad facilitates guests’ arrival on board and doubles in an outdoor cinema that perfectly completes the luxurious lifestyle on board this superyacht.
Other features include a touch-and-go helipad which doubles as an outdoor cinema on the main deck, offering owners and guests the highest levels of luxury.
Galactica Super Nova will be extensively tested in the North Sea before being being delivered to her owners in May 2016.
