Partnering Matthew Cutler, Dixon won 2007’s Strictly Come Dancing.
In 2008, Dixon inked a deal with Asylum Records, releasing The Alesha Show that November. “The Boy Does Nothing”, her first album’s first single, stood at number five on the UK Charts while being certified Gold.
“Breathe Slow”, her second, peaked at three in Britain.
After her third single “Let’s Get Excited”, The Alesha Show received Platinum certification from BPI. In September 2009, Dixon was called on as judge for Strictly Come Dancing and then released her fourth single “To Love Again”. She also launched her own jewellery line that year.
The Entertainer, Dixon’s third album, was released in 2010.
In January 2012, Dixon quit Strictly Come Dancing to join Simon Cowell as judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent (2012-).
Dixon supports charities such as African-Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT) and RSPCA.
She also has several lucrative deals with brands such as Ford, Toblerone Thomson Airways and Avon. The sports enthusiast has been the creative director of LA Fitness since 2009.
The singer has also hosted the MOBO Awards, The Brit Awards, E!’s Live From the Red Carpet at the 62nd British Academy Film Awards, and CBBC’s Alesha’s Street Dance Stars.
