Paris Hilton, the oldest child and heir to the Hilton Hotel fortune, has an estimated net worth of $100 million as of 2017.

Hilton is a well-known American businesswoman, television and media personality, model, actress, singer and DJ. She is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. Born February 17, 1981 in New York and raised in Beverly Hills, California. Her mother, Kathy Hilton is a former actress and her father Richard Howard Hilton, is a business man.

In her youth, Hilton attended the Buckley School and St Paul the Apostle School; finishing elementary school in 1995. She spent freshman year of high school at Marywood-Palm Valley School in Rancho mirage, California. In 1996, Hilton and her family moved from California to the East Coast. At the Age of 16, Hilton attended the Provo Canyon School for emotionally troubled teens for a year. She then attended the Canterbury School in New Milford, Connecticut. She was expelled from Canterbury for violating the rules, after returning to school at Dwight, she dropped out after a few months.

Her modelling career started as a child at charity events. When she was 19, she was signed to Donald Trump’s modelling agency, T Management. That same year, Hilton and her sister were photographed by David Lachapelle. The photos were featured in ‘Vanity Fair’. While modelling, she became known in the media for constantly partying. In 2001, she developed a reputation as a socialite. Her media appearances expanded during this time. Hilton was proclaimed as “New York’s leading It girl”.

In 2003, a sex tape was released with Hilton and her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, named ‘1 Night in Paris’, it became a media sensation. This was only a few weeks prior to the release of the reality TV series ‘The Simple Life’, in which she starred alongside her abiding friend Nicole Richie.

Over the years, Hilton became more and more popular by appearing in television, movies, commercials, modelling and legal incidents. In 2005, after ‘The Simple Life’ was cancelled, it was picked up by E! and started production for its 4th season in 2006. Hilton released herself titled album ‘Paris’ in August 2006.The Album sold over 600,000 copies worldwide.

In September 2006, she was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. This complicated ‘The Simple Life’s’ fifth season. She received 36 months’ probation; was fined around $1,500 and her driving license was suspended.

According to Forbes magazine, in 2003-2004 she earned around $2 million for her television and movie roles. This went up to 6.5million from 2004-2004. As a result of multiple legal incidents, Hilton was arrested in 2007 and publicly sentenced to LA county jail.

Though Hilton was born into a rich family, she has earned most of her money from her brands; these include various products such as perfumes, watches, handbags and beauty products. As her business deals vary, her salary is unpredictable. On average, she earns an estimated $10 million a year from sales.

In early 2012, Hilton debuted as a DJ at a Brazilian Music festival. She received negative responses on YouTube but the audience appeared to enjoy it. She continues to DJ at some events, demanding six figures for each appearance. Hilton was estimated to be worth $100 million as of 2017.
