Engel & Völkers Yachting is expanding its presence on the French Riviera. The new Antibes Yachting Shop opened at the end of June. It is located on the Avenue de la Libération, very close to the port. “Port Vauban in Antibes is the largest harbour in the Mediterranean, and an important yachting hotspot,” said Anissa Mediouni, CEO of Engel & Völkers Yachting, on the strategic choice of location. The Côte d’Azur is particularly important for the yachting industry as it attracts yachting enthusiasts from across the world, and offers docks and boat moorings for large yachts.

Access to an exclusive clientele
The services offered by the Engel & Völkers Yachting team in Antibes include the brokerage and charter of yachts, as well as managing new constructions and refits. Private yacht owners and shipyards value the company’s international network, as it gives them access to a wealthy private clientele outside of the traditional yachting community. Yachting is one of four business divisions of Engel & Völkers, alongside Residential Real Estate, Commercial Real Estate, and Aviation. The service company is currently operating in more than 700 locations worldwide and further expansion is planned. In Antibes, Engel & Völkers Yachting is looking for further yacht brokers and charter brokers.

Yachting industry prognosis for 2016
Engel & Völkers is registering growing interest in yachting, especially in Europe and the USA. “The charter segment is set to be particularly important for the future development of the superyacht industry overall,” said Anissa Mediouni, explaining: “There was record demand for superyachts last year, and the trend for 2016 is also looking extremely promising.” In the broker segment, Engel & Völkers Yachting is forecasting a slight rise in prices for new yachts.
