Born to lawyers in France in April 1990, Emma Watson is reportedly worth £48 million.

She spent her first five years in Paris until her parents divorced. After which, she moved with her mother to Oxfordshire.

Little did she know of celebrity net worth and stardom when she expressed her interest, at the age of six, to become an actress.
Watson joined part-time theatre school, Stagecoach Theatre Arts, and appeared in many dramas and short plays, before one of her teachers at theatre school reportedly passed on her name to the casting agents of the first Harry Potter flick.

The actress auditioned five times before she landed the role of Hermoine Granger. At the age of nine, Watson appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which was released in 2001. Although considered a children’s film, the movie surpassed age boundaries to become a universal hit, grossing $974 million at the box office.

Watson reprised the Hermoine Granger role in all of the subsequent films of the British-American Harry Potter franchise, which ended with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). It is the highest-grossing film series ever made, with $7.7 billion in worldwide receipts, while each film also features individually among the 50 highest-grossing films.

As Watson went from a girl to an adolescent, her net worth began to rise. In 2007 she reportedly received $4 million for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She was paid $15 million for her role in Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011.

Watson has also had important roles in films other than Harry Potter, including Ballet Shoes (2007), The Tale of Despereaux (2008) and My Week with Marilyn (2011). She last appeared in The Bling Ring. Her latest film, Noah, is due to be released in the UK on April 4.

Besides acting Watson has also been involved with fashion, becoming the youngest person to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine at the age of fifteen.

She has modeled for Burberry and Lancôme, and also volunteered as a ‘creative advisor’ for People Tree, releasing a line of fairtrade clothing in 2010.

A recipient of over a dozen prestigious awards, Watson currently resides in London.
