Run to Monaco, the supercar escapade, has announced its 2013 route, which boasts an elaborate and varied itinerary that necessitates a full wardrobe to brave multiple terrains and altitudes, from tearing round Brands Hatch to climbing the Alps and gliding through Bordeaux’s vineyards. It provides some opportunity to tick off a few of those items on the bucket list.

The Run to Monaco (22-27 May) is a grand tour for the automotively-inclined. A fully vetted fleet of supercars begins in London, destined to meander through France and arrive in good time for the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s a smorgasbord of activities: in the space of only five days, the voyage has something to whet the taste-buds of petrol-heads, foodies, wine connoisseurs, mariners and those with wanderlusts alike.

The days begin early, involving the migration of the fleet through the unspoilt Riviera, winding mountain roads or France’s level terrain, punctuated by unique scheduled events. Culinary delights are abundant and award-winning chefs make guest appearances. Appetites appeased, the adventurers are then accommodated in fine hotels where they can expect everything from a champagne reception and tour to a private beach party.
