Ruffer, one of London’s best known money managers who famously called the recession as early as 2004 and has close links to hedge fund tycoon Crispin Odey, has taken a 29.5pc stake in Better Capital. Other investors in Better Capital include BlackRock with 9.8pc, Scottish Widows with 9.8pc and Aviva with 7pc.
