Spear’s magazine is honoured to be joining the stellar line-up of partners and speakers taking part in this year’s City Week International Financial Services Forum, which brings together industry leaders and policy makers from around the globe.
Taking place on 20-21 May at the Guildhall, City Week will welcome speakers such as trade secretary Liam Fox, Lord Blackwell, chairman of Lloyds banking group, Luis de Guindos, vice-president of the European Central Bank and Stephanie Flanders, head of Bloomberg economics.
The event – which includes satellite events from sponsors CISI and The Investor Forum – brings together industry figures to consider the future of global financial markets and London. The two-day event will kick off with the keynote address from City Minister John Glen, who will speak on ‘the evolving role of the City of London in the global economy’. This will then be discussed by panellists Bruce Carnegie-Brown, Lloyd’s London chairman, Helena Morrissey, head of personal investing at Legal & General Investment Management.
Day two will see a panel moderated by Bloomberg news anchor Anna Edwards, in which José Manuel Barroso, chairman of Goldman Sachs International and former president of the European Commission will discuss the future of Europe. Also on the agenda is ‘Cyber Security and Operational Resilience’ with panellists Tim Morris, executive director of Police Services at Interpol, Mariana Pereira, director of marketing, Darktrace, Anne Richards, CEO of Fidelity International, Sam Woods, deputy governor for prudential regulation at the Bank of England, and Paul Taylor, partner and UK head of cybersecurity at KPMG.
