Born on February 21, 1996 in Northampton, Northamptonshire, Sophie Turner’s family shifted to Chesterton, Warwickshire in 1998. A member of Playbox Theatre Company since three years old, Turner attended Warwick Prep School and later The King’s High School for Girls.

In 2011, Turner was chosen to play the role of noblewoman Sansa Stark in the famous TV series Game of Thrones, after being persuaded by her drama teacher to audition for the role. But with her first professional acting role interrupting her schooling, Turner had to turn to a tutor for help while on the sets to pass her GCSE—scoring a total of five As and four Bs, including B in drama.
