Restaurant Openings and Foodie Events in March and April

By Spear's

Here are a few things that I want to go to and recommend you do too

It has been a little while since we gave you some things to keep the peepers open for, but with new openings, pop-ups and markets almost everywhere here are a few things that I want to go to and recommend you do too.

Restaurant openings

Today: Ametsa with Arzak Instruction opens at the Halkin today; reservations are on 020 7333 1234. Read our review here.

This week: The Clove Club opened and is certainly one to visit. The sister restaurant to Upstairs at the Ten Bells, it is a big new addition to Shoreditch Town Hall (pictured above). Reservations on 0207 729 6496.

11 March: Brasserie Chavot opens to the public, with chef Eric Chavot (pictured below) serving high quality French brasserie food. Reservations on 020 7078 9577.

16 April: Story, the new restaurant from Tom Sellers, who is providing this week’s guest recipe, opens; booking lines open tomorrow on 020 7183 2117.

April: Beagle, a new bar and restaurant under the railway arches in Hoxton, opens. Reservations are on bookings@beaglelondon.co.uk.

Events

12 March: Brooklyn Feast from Street Feast takes over the Thames House car park in Dalston for a night of beer tasting and a great selection of street food from snazzy vans. We’ve featured Street Feast previously in Food Friday for their nighttime markets and they are gaining cult following in London. In addition to the food and beer there will also be screenprinting and DJ. Tickets are only £6 and include one free beer and one free signature dish from a street vendor. Something a little different for a Tuesday night. Some of the street food vans are pictured below.

17-18 April: Cambalache: One Night in Argentina – lots of Argentinean wine, street food, music and general good times (over two nights). All to be found at MC Motors in Dalston. Tickets are £35 and include your food and drink. Get tickets – if you can – here.

25 April-1 May: CRAFT from Nuno Mendes. 6 nights each with a different chef, all hosted by Viajante’s Nuno Mendes. Stemming from the Loft Project roots and ethos, it sounds pretty exciting to me. Each chef will create his own menu and cook it alongside Mendes and his team. The concept is to showcase the idea that ‘thoughtfulness can be tasted.’ Guest chefs will include Jose Avillez, Eneko Atxa and Kobe Desramault. Tickets are £135 for 8 courses without wine.
