Grand-daughter of the late Rev. Hosea Williams, a prominent civil rights activist and a contemporary to the great Martin Luther King, Porsha Dyanne Williams was born on June 22, 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia. Williams went to Schaumburg, Illinois to study at the American InterContinental University and graduated in Business Information Technology.
How did Williams make her millions?
Hoping for a career in the modelling industry, Williams appeared in music videos and, in 2005, she was a “pin-up” model for the Atlanta Dymes calendar. After some time, she took up a job at the Lucky Lounge in Atlanta where she met Kordell Stewart, the American football star. Their marriage was an elaborate ceremony which was broadcast on the WE tv series, Platinum Weddings, in May 2011. However, the marriage was short-lived and they divorced in 2013.
In 2012, Williams was cast along with Kenya Moore in the reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHoA), appearing in the third episode of the fifth season. With her returned earlier cast members Kandi Burruss, Cynthia Bailey, Phaedra Parks, NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak. Since her appearance, the season documented her feud with Moore after their clash during Feed the Homeless, a charity event, ensued by a fracas with Bailey. One of the main Housewives from Seasons Five to Eight, Williams appeared as a friend only for Season Seven. Bravo TV announced in September 2015 that she would once again appear as a full-time housewife on RHoA, along with actress Kim Fields.
Williams, who was selected by Kandi Burruss for her stage musical A Mother’s Love in 2013, now appears as an entertainment news correspondent on “The Ricky Smiley Show” of Dish Nation (2014-present).
In March 2014, her debut single “Flatline” was released through the iTunes Store under the record label Kandi Koated Entertainment. Williams was also chosen as a contestant for the reality game show The New Celebrity Apprentice in January 2016, which will be aired on NBC January 2017 onwards.
