Phillip Schofield net worth

By Suren Prasad

Born in Lancashire on April 1, 1962, Schofield took the media plunge at 15 on Hospital Radio Plymouth. He then joined BBC Radio as a bookings clerk at Broadcasting House, London, becoming their youngest employee at just 17, but what is Phillip Schofield’s net worth?

Schofield then moved to New Zealand with his family and began his TV career there in 1982 as the initial presenter for the music show Shazam!

After returning to England in 1985, Schofield joined Children’s BBC, first as an in-vision continuity presenter, a role he held until 1987. In 1988, he was presenter of the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party.

Schofield then hosted Saturday morning show Going Live! (1987-93). During this time, he also broadcasted for BBC Radio 1’s Sunday show of the same name.

He shifted to ITV’s adult-orientated programmes in the early 1990s with Schofield’s Quest, Schofield’s TV Gold and Ten Ball. The presenter also hosted Talking Telephone Numbers (1994-97), BBC One’s National Lottery Winning Lines (2001-04), Have I Been Here Before? (2005), co-hosted BBC’s Test the Nation (2002-06), The British Soap Awards (2006) and A Night of Heroes: The Sun Military Awards (2009).

Schofield previously starred in the West End play Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (1991) and Doctor Doolittle (1998-99), even releasing a single, Close Every Door, for the former.

A presenter on This Morning since 2002, Schofield is perhaps best known for this particular longstanding role on ITV. It has won Best Daytime Programme at the National Television Awards for the past two years.

He has also co-hosted ITV’s Dancing on Ice since 2006, earning him a reported £45,000 per show. He allegedly receives a similar salary for presenting All Star Mr and Mrs, a celebrity revival of ITV’s game show Mr and Mrs.

Schofield began hosting game show The Cube in 2009. The show has won several BAFTAs for best programme in its format.

In 2010, Schofield launched Radio Plymouth in Devon and also hosted ITV’s The Comedy Annual in 2010 and 2011. Co-presenting ITV’s Christmas charity telethon Text Santa since 2011, he also co-hosted the Royal Wedding (2011) and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (2012).
