Phaedra Parks was born in Athens, Georgia to pastors Henry Parks and Regina Bell on October 26, 1973. Completing her schooling from Clarke Central High School in 1989 and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Wesleyan College in 1993, Parks went on to earn her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia Law School in 1998. Apart from studies, she was also a skilled equestrienne during her college days.

In 2010, Parks was cast along with Cynthia Bailey in the third season of the hit reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo TV, and was one of the main cast members until the eighth season. During the series in 2013, Parks legally aided fellow Housewife Kandi Burruss, who was fighting a court case against a former Housewife Kim Zolciak regarding the legal rights of the single “Tardy for the Party” sung by Zolciak in 2009.
