By Spear's

American singer-songwriter and dancer Melody Thornton has an estimated net worth of $3 million (£2.4 million).

Born on 28 September, 1984, Thornton graduated from Camelback High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 2003. She rose to fame as a member of the successful pop group the Pussycat Dolls.

How did Thornton make her millions?

Thornton’s talent was first discovered at a Papago Elementary School talent show when she sang Mariah Carey’s remake of Badfinger’s “Without You”.
In December 2003, Thornton was recruited in the Pussycat Dolls as a soprano vocalist. The youngest member of the group, Thornton assumed the second most prominent vocal role, after lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger, and was distinguished for her melismatic vocal runs.
As with the other Dolls, she was a salaried employee of Interscope Records.
The Pussycat Dolls attained worldwide achievement in 2005 after releasing their album known as PCD which sold 10 million copies worldwide including 3 million in the U.S. This album was debuted at position five on the US Billboard. Examples of hits in the album include Buttons, Don’t Cha, and Stickwitu, which was nominated for several Grammy Awards. Their hit singles “Don’t Cha”, “Buttons”, and “When I Grow Up” all sold over 2 million copies.
In 2010, Thornton departed from the group to focus on her solo career. Thornton is currently working on her debut solo album. Her first solo single “Sweet Vendetta” was released in June 2011.
On March 5, 2012, Lipstick & Guilt was launched as a promotional single. On 15 March 2012, her first mixtape “P.O.Y.B.L”, an acronym for Piss In Your Black List, was released. The mixtape features 10 tracks of five remakes and four originals all composed by her.
She has been featured on songs by Timbaland, LL Cool J, Prince Kay One, and Bizzy Crook. She appeared in the TV series Bank of Hollywood from 2009 to 2010.

She has also appeared in various TV shows, including Popstar to Operastar, Keeping Up with the Kardashians and most recently Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating in the UK.
