Lockdown dining: The high-end London restaurants delivering during the coronavirus crisis

By Anna Solomon

Restaurants may be closed for the foreseeable future, but there is no need for food-lovers to resign themselves to canned goods or questionable takeaway fare. Many of London’s favourite high-end eateries have launched delivery and takeaway services to fill the void, and Anna Solomon has found the very best…

HIDE
85 Piccadilly, W1J 7NB
HIDE has joined with Supper app to deliver dishes from renowned chef Ollie Dabbous. And of course, roast scallop, Jerusalem artichoke and black truffle wouldn’t be the same without a wine pairing, so Hedonism are offering their finest libations alongside.

Colette
315 Fulham Rd, Chelsea, SW10 9QH
This ‘gourmet traiteur and delicatessen’ founded by Dimitri and Mira Plaquet boasts dishes created by executive chef Chris Hill, who is an alumnus of the Ritz. Try beef carpaccio with Harry’s Bar dressing, indulgent lobster pasta, or the house specialty, beef Wellington.

Pasta Evangelists
Delivers UK-wide
Pasta Evangelists deliver fresh pasta kits across the UK, complete with beautiful sauces and garnishes sourced from Italy. Five star dishes such as black truffle and pecorino triangoli, trofie with walnut pesto, and pappardelle with beef shin embody centuries of artisanal tradition and can be prepared in just five minutes.

Orasay
31 Kensington Park Road, W11 2EU
Notting Hill institution Orasay also joins the fray, with chef Jackson Boxer cooking up elegant food inspired by the Western Isles; from potato bread and shrimp butter to short rib and celeriac puree, the Caledonian fare is always delicious.

Poilâne
3
9 Cadogan Gardens, SW3 2TB
The London branch of the world-famous Poilâne bakery is still making delectable Parisian patisserie with a twist: enter the open face duck foie gras sandwich with pear, date and ale chutney.

Chucs
25 Eccleston St, Belgravia, SW1W 9NP
The Chucs At Home concept is offering delivery to doors within a one mile radius of the Belgravia site, with takeaway available for everyone else. It offers pasta and pizza favourites including ricotta & black truffle tortellini, and pizza biana with goat’s cheese, raw asparagus and courgette.

Petersham Nurseries
Petersham Road, Richmond, TW10 7AB
West London’s favourite goods emporium has launched a new grocery delivery initiative, offering  premium organic meat, fresh fruit and vegetables from the family farm, and Italian cured meats and cheeses, as well as larder essentials like dried beans, pulses and pasta, high grade olive oil, preserves and tea.
