George Clooney net worth

George Clooney is worth a reported £124 million.

Born in Kentucky to Nina Bruce and Nick Clooney, Clooney began his acting career working as an extra in the television mini-series Centennial (1978). He also played minor roles in The Facts of Life and The Golden Girls.

However, Clooney rose to fame after playing Dr. Doug Ross on the hit NBC drama ER (1994-1999). He also received two Emmy Award nominations and three Golden Globe Award nominations for his role.

Whilst working on ER, Clooney began appearing in films with his first major Hollywood role in From Dusk till Dawn. Following this he also worked on One Fine Day and The Peacemaker. He was then cast as Batman in Batman & Robin in 1997. The film was a box office success, grossing $238.2 million worldwide.

In 2001, Clooney would go on to create one of his most successful film to date, Ocean’s Eleven. As of 2011, it had earned more than $450million worldwide. Two succesful sequals also followed, Ocean’s Twelve (2004) and Ocean’s Thirteen (2007).

During 2002 Clooney made his directorial debut with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

Clooney starred in Syrianna (2005) which saw him win an Oscar. The same year he directed, produced and also starred in Good Night, and Good Luck.

He also starred in The Good German in 2006. Later that year, Clooney, alongside Grant Heslov, founded the production company Smokehouse Pictures.

He co-starred alongside Ewan McGreggor and Kevin Spacey in The Men Who Stare At Goats (2009) directed by Heslov. He also voiced Mr. Fox in Fantastic Mr Fox and starred in Up in the Air for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, BAFTA and an Academy Award.

In 2010 Clooney starred and produced The American.

2011 saw Clooney star in The Descendants. He earned critical praise for his work and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.

That same year he also directed, produced and starred in The Ideas of March and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

In 2013 Clooney won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama, the BAFTA Award for Best Picture and the Academy Award for Best Picture for Argo. The film was a huge box office success, grossing $232 million worldwide.

Clooney co-starred with Sandra Bullock in Gravity (2013) in what was to become the eight-highest grossing film of 2013, making $716.3 million worldwide. He co-wrote, directed and starred in The Monuments Men and also produced August: Orange County that same year.

Clooney is involved with Not On Our Watch, an organization that focuses global attention and resources to stop and prevent mass atrocities. In 2010 he organized the Telethon Hope for Haiti Now, helping to collect donations for the 2010 Haiti earthquake victims.

Clooney married British-Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin during September 2014.

He lives in his 7,354-square-foot LA home. He also owns residences in Laglio, Lake Como, Italy and Los Cabos, Mexico. He owns a black Porsche 911 and a red and white Chevrolet Corvette.
