Talking exclusively to Spear’s, Philip Howell, CEO of William de Broë, has said he hopes to complete the acquisition of BNP Paribas Private Investment Management ‘within weeks, not months’. ‘There are very clear synergies and parallel investment management philosophies & practices,’ he said, ‘so BNPP WM clients will find it basically seamless.’

Howell said that ‘bolt-on acquisitions’ would be a key part of their plan to reach £10 billion AuM. The acquisition would produce a good fit because there were ‘very similar client and professional staff profiles, parallel investment philosophy, etc.’
