Melt have partnered up with St James’ Hotel & Club to put on a rather delightful luxury chocolate-making masterclass
Next week is Chocolate Week. And Curry Week. And London Cocktail Week. It is a big week.
But first let’s tackle Chocolate Week. Even though, as a woman, I am genetically programmed to home in on chocolate, I don’t have a very sweet tooth. That said, I am always happy to try and retrain my tastebuds and will be doing so with the help of Melt Chocolates.
Melt have partnered up with St James’ Hotel & Club to put on a rather delightful luxury chocolate-making masterclass. Now, I do enjoy a good masterclass so I am very much looking forward to being taught how to make truffles this Saturday under the expert guidance of Melt’s head chocolatier, Chika Watanabe (my Early Modern German tutor had the same surname, which strangely makes me even more excited).
I’m told that after guests have rolled their ganache in some chocolatey powder – please note the use of the technical terms – Michelin-starred executive chef William Drabble will treat them to a three-course chocolate themed menu. Guests will then enjoy the sommelier’s handpicked selection of Melt chocolates with a further splosh of nicely paired wine. This all takes place at lunchtime which makes it at least twice as decadent.
So if I don’t answer my phone on Saturday afternoon you now know why.
