Rendezvous is the first “boutique” couples-only all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, owned and operated by the Barnard family who opened their Saint Lucian family home as a hotel 50 years ago.
Undertaking a $12.5m renovation in November 2015, the five-star hotel’s accommodation, resort facilities and food & beverage outlets were upgraded. Following the renovations, the resort’s Seaside Suites and Verandah Suites received significant interior design updates as well as a brand-new swim up pool bar and the addition of a new a la carte beachside “toes-in-the-sand” restaurant, Malabar Beach Club; with views overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

The revamped Seaside and Verandah Suites at Rendezvous overlook the pool, Caribbean Sea or tropical gardens from a 12 foot verandah, while inside four-poster king-sized beds and free-standing tranquility baths offer comfort in abundance.

In conjunction with its 50th anniversary this year, the idyllic Caribbean hideaway launched a new initiative, ‘Summer Tryst’, from July to September, to encourage guests to get away, connect and spend more quality time together through completely customisable experiences. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a holiday of ‘stolen time’ and rediscover what made them a great couple in the first place. Whether it’s learning to Tango, a couple’s Tai Chi class or the barmen mixing up a first date cocktail, couples at Rendezvous fall prey to an accumulation of magnetic experiences.

Complimentary classes include wine tasting, rum tasting, art classes, Yoga and Pilates classes, massage classes and cooking classes. Supplementary sessions are also available including photography classes with a scenic tour, a rum distillery tour, a cocoa plantation tour and chocolate making experience, marine park dives in the Caribbean Sea, local chef ‘cook-off’ dinner and wine pairing, as well as private couples sessions in Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, massage and sailing.

Day trips will also be available to Sulphur Springs, which is the world’s only drive-in volcano on the South-West of the island near Soufrière, and The Pitons, two mountainous volcanoes which are also located on the South-West of St.Lucia.
