The high cost of a good academic and cultural education is hurting Britain

This week, I have been examining why the astronomical expense of private school fees are a cause of social mobility grinding to halt. I mention the John Hall Venice course too: for £10,000, your gap year student can be sent to La Serenissima for a few weeks to learn about Tintoretto and thermodynamics. Taken together, the high cost of a good academic and cultural education is hurting Britain.
