With a monstrous 2,080-hp brake horsepower (bhp) engine under the hood, spaceship-like supercar Arash AF10 comes complete with ‘Warp Drive’ system that allows the car to do 0-60mph in a remarkable 2.8 seconds.
The British Arash Motor Company will be showcasing the AF10 at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, which takes place from 3 to 13 March. The hybrid supercar’s warp drive consists of four electric motors and one supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, totalling 1,180bhp and 900bhp respectively and weighing in at 120kg. With power from a 32-kWh lithium-ion battery, the four motors offer the additional 1,180 bhp necessary to reach the 2,080 bhp (1,551 kW) total. Arash suggests the AF10 ‘has more spaceship DNA than car’.
With the dedicated electric motor powering each of the car’s four wheels in addition to the V8 engine, the car flies as a spaceship with a remarkable acceleration time of just 2.8 seconds from 0-60 mph.
Equipped with aerodynamic components, the door opens up with the help of electro-hydraulic dihedral doors, and the large rear wing and active front wing also have electro-hydraulic hardware. The car’s chassis consists of a strong but light carbon-fibre shell that Arash says is the same material used in Formula 1 and endurance sports cars. The body of Arash AF10 is made from a CFRP/aluminium honeycomb construction with machined aluminium front and rear sub frames. Adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers let Arash AF10 ride 150 mm for speed bumps and lower 150 mm at high speed for reduced aerodynamic lift and drag. The AF10 tops out at a speed of just over 200mph.
The Arash AF10 is priced at £1.2m ($1.7m).
