What could be better, then, than learning how to make both macaroons and martinis at the same time? OhLaLa has launched a new masterclass to do just that – and Spear’s has two tickets to give away
Macaroons (macarons if you’re being French): sweet food of fashion, but hellish to make and incredibly expensive to buy. After all, a kilo of Pierre Hermé’s feather-light creations will set you back £80.
Martinis: whether gin or vodka (or gin), with a twist or an olive, dirty, clean, apple or otherwise, an endlessly variable throat-burner.
What could be better, then, than learning how to make both macaroons and martinis at the same time? OhLaLa has launched a new masterclass to do just that – and Spear’s has two tickets to give away.
The Saturday afternoon classes will be small – no more than sixteen a time – and will be run by world-class pâtissiers from the likes of Zuma and Grainger & Co at chic London venues. Meanwhile, London’s top mixologists will show you how to shake (or stir) your perfect martini. Guests will learn the history and origin of the macaroon (or macaron if you’re being proper), along with demonstrations on what makes an impeccable martini.
