Who is Seann Walsh?
London-born Sean Walsh (who professionally tweaked his first name to Seann) is a stand-up comic. A was a contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2018,

Childhood
Seann Walsh was born on December 2, 1985, in Lewisham, London and raised in Brighton, East Sussex in the UK during his teens. Leaving school with just his Drama GCSE exam cleared, Walsh went on to train in stand-up comedy at coach Jill Edwards’ comedy workshops, propped by a loan from his mother.

Comedy career
Starting his career in comedy at 20, he performed his first stand-up in 2006 and soon became a regular on the Brighton comedy circuit. Walsh began to get noticed with runners-up prizes at the Amused Moose Laugh Off 2008, So You Think You’re Funny 2008 and Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2009. In 2009, he won the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year and Chortle Best Newcomer.

Toting his “observational, gag-heavy” comic skills, Walsh toured England in 2012 with his show Seann To Be Wild for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, which gave him the proper platform to tickle his way into the mainstream. His show The Lie-In King at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe was a riot with the press.

In Brighton, Walsh became the resident host at Brighton’s arts and entertainment company Komedia for their sellout show Comic Boom. He also performed the role of warm-up comedian or “audience wrangler” for the British comedy panel game TV quiz show QI.
