Born on February 27, 1973 in London, Peter Andre is reported to be worth £11 million.
He moved with his Greek-Cypriot parents to Queensland, Australia, at the age of six. In 1989, he received a £146,000 recording contract as a contestant on TV’s Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
Did Andre’s music career take off to make his millions?
In 1992 Andre released his first single “Mysterious Girl”, in Australia. Its 1995 re-release in Europe with the album Natural took the world by storm and peaked at second spot in the UK (1996). The album itself sold 200,000 copies in the first week. But he got his real breakthrough in December 1992 with his second single “Gimme Little Sign” from his first studio album Peter Andre, which went on to become the topmost selling single sung by an Australian.
After a move to London, his fourth single emerged in September 1996, the English chartbuster “Flava” from Natural, which sold three million copies in six months.
In 2004, Andre came third in the British version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, then married his co-contestant, glamour model Katie Price “Jordan”, in 2005. The couple introduced the Katie & Peter franchise on ITV2, documenting their life as a couple with many fly-on-the-wall shows. Following their divorce in 2009, Andre continued with shows on his own name until 2013.
He also released two fragrances for women — Unconditional (2009) and Mysterious Girl (2010) and also published his book My World: In Picturesand Words 2010, which scored number two for several weeks on the UK book charts.
In 2014, he became brand ambassador for Iceland supermarket and launched Big Night’s lead single “Kid” for the film Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
Andre’s other albums are: Time (1997, certified Gold), The Long Road Back (2004, certified Silver), A Whole New World (2006), Revelation (2009), Unconditional: Love Songs (2010), Accelerate (2010), Angels & Demons (2012), Big Night (2014) and Come Fly With Me (2015).
His TV shows include being team captain in ITV’s Odd One In (2010), host of Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover since 2013 and co-host of the ITVBe launch in 2014. Andre starred in ITV’s Give a Pet a Home (April-May 2015) and is currently contesting on Strictly Come Dancing since September.
Apart from a £1.9 million holiday home in Cyprus and properties in Australia, Andre owns the New York Coffee Club and a £2 million mansion in East Grinstead, Sussex. He also drives a £137,000 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet and a £273,000 Ferrari California.
