Born into a baking family in Wallasey, Wirral on March 1, 1966, Paul Hollywood took up baking as a teenager at his father’s bakery followed by stints at other Merseyside bakeries. Progressing to head baker in hotels such as Cliveden Hotel, Chester Grosvenor and Spa, and The Dorchester, he later travelled to Cyprus to work at a resort.
