Ola Jordan net worth

By Suren Prasad

A participant on the 16th series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, petite professional dancer and famous face of Strictly Come Dancing, Ola Jordan’s net worth is guesstimated to be £1.1 million.

Ola Jordan was born Aleksandra “Ola” Grabowska in Legionowo, Poland on September 30, 1982. Jordan began dancing since she was a 12-year-old schoolgirl and in 1999 went on to win Poland’s Open Championships.

How did Jordan go on to make her millions?

She met James Jordan for the first time in Blackpool at a dance competition in 1999 and in 2000 came their first recorded partnership at the Dutch Open. Both turned professional in 2003—getting married the same year on October 12. However, they took a sabbatical until 2006 to teach Latin American dance in Hong Kong.

The dancing Jordans returned in style, standing second in the Blackpool Professional Rising Stars Latin event, in May 2006. They also stood third in the British Championships for Professional Latin in November 2006.

Jordan’s first appearance on the fourth series of Strictly Come Dancing (October 2006), as a professional dancer, was a disappointing third round exit. Participating in every series until 2015, she won the seventh series in 2009 partnering reporter Chris Collins—with both being affectionately called “Team Cola” by fans. Her husband too competed on the fifth series, but with a different partner. In a Strictly Come Dancing special, Jordan danced a winning number with McFly drummer Harry Judd and appeared in BBC’s Bargain Hunt with Strictly… head judge Len Goodman for Children in Need 2010.
The ballroom dancer also graced BBC Radio 1’s Innuendo Bingo, beside her twelfth series partner from Strictly…, Steve Backshall.

Jordan’s TV appearances with her husband include Total Wipeout (2009), Dancing on Wheels (2010, as judges), All Star Mr & Mrs (2013, winners) and Through the Keyhole (2015).

Although selected for Channel 4’s The Jump (2014), Jordan had to withdraw because of a torn knee ligament.
She participated in the 16th series of ITV’s reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (November 13-December 4, 2016) and was the third to be voted out. Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt won the series, with comedian Joel Dommett standing runner-up. Jordan was paid around £90,000 for her appearance.

The Jordans earn around £250,000 as the face of lingerie brand Ann Summers, apart from a £300 fee charged per dance lesson, plus royalty earned from signed merchandise and appearances, while her calendar alone rakes in about £100,000 per year. The dancing duo’s James And Ola Dance Academy Limited made a profit of £90,000 with total current assets amounting to £697,000, as per latest accounts filed. Another firm, JOPP Limited, has assets to the tune of £220,000.

More money is expected to come Jordan’s way with sales of her autobiography Strictly Ola: My Story (published in September 2016).
