David Tennant is worth an estimated £4.8 million.
Tennant aspired to become an actor from the age of three, inspired by BBC’s Doctor Who. At 16, he debuted professionally with an anti-smoking film. Tennant later studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama until the age of 20.
Tennant’s first key role on TV was in the Scottish drama Takin’ Over the Asylum (1994). He also honed his skills with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and audio dramatisations for the Arkangel Shakespeare series in 1998.

He starred in Blackpool (2004), The Quatermass Experiment (2005), Secret Smile (2005), Casanova (2005), The Chatterley Affair (2006), Recovery (2007), Trick or Treat (2007), Learners (2007) and Einstein and Eddington (2008). He also appeared in films such as Bright Young Things (2003) and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) and voice-acted in the English version of the 2006 Norwegian animation Free Jimmy (2008).
Come 2005, Tennant replaced Christopher Eccleston in Doctor Who, becoming the ‘tenth Doctor’. In 2006, he was voted “Best Doctor” by readers of Doctor Who Magazine. A Radio Times survey in 2007 chose Tennant’s Doctor as the “coolest character on UK TV”.
Following roles in audio plays, animations and spin-offs based on the legendary series, The Doctor Who fanatic’s first directorial venture came with a Doctor Who Confidential, in 2007.
As well as voice-starring in The Adventures of Luther Arkwright (2005), Tennant’s performance in Look Back in Anger (2005) won Best Male Performance (Critics Award for Theatre in Scotland) and was recorded for the Victoria and Albert Museum Theatre Collection.

Tennant’s Hamlet performance for RSC won him the Best Shakespearean Performance at the 2009 Critics Choice Awards.
He provided voice for all characters in the audio versions of the Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III books and for their film animations — the How to Train Your Dragon series.
