Born on 17 October 1983 and brought up in Bournville, Birmingham, Felicity Jones is estimated to be worth £1.3 million.
She began acting as an 11-year-old, urged on by her family. During her time at Wadham College, Oxford, she starred in college plays such as Attis and The Comedy of Errors for the university’s drama society OUDS (2005).
In 1998, Jones played the part of school bully Ethel Hallow in the first series of The Worst Witch. She also starred as Emma Carter in The Archers, a BBC Radio 4 soap opera.
Subsequently, Jones starred in the 2003 BBC drama Servants. In 2007, she played the lead role in ITV’s Northanger Abbey, debuting on stage that year with That Face at the Royal Court Theatre.
Her 2008 projects included the films Flashbacks of a Fool and Brideshead Revisited, and a revival of The Chalk Garden at the Donmar Warehouse in London.
The following year, Jones appeared as Margot Frank in the BBC One series The Diary of Anne Frank. In 2010, she starred in the movies Cemetery Junction, Soulboy and a silver screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
At the Sundance Film Festival in 2011, Jones was awarded the Special Jury Prize (Dramatic) and the Best New Hollywood Award for her role in the romantic drama Like Crazy. The year culminated with her becoming a brand ambassador for fashion houses Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry.
In 2014, after co-starring in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Jones appeared as Jane Hawking in the critically-acclaimed Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, receiving nominations for Best Actress at the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, SAGs, Oscars and BAFTAs.
Jones currently resides in Bethnal Green, London.
