The best luxury Easter eggs money can buy

By Spear's

Only the most generous of Easter bunnies would be able to produce one of these luxury Easter eggs, complete with hand-painted designs and indulgent fillings. But really, there is no need to wait until Easter weekend to crack into one of these heavenly treats.

Spear’s has carried out its own Easter egg hunt – tracking down the most lavish (and delicious) Easter selections available. As well as the traditional chocolate egg, which comes in all shapes and sizes, there are also hand-iced biscuits and hampers overflowing with springtime delicacies.

The only eggs more spectacular than the luxury Easter eggs selected below? Fabergés, of course.

The best luxury Easter eggs

Il Gattopardo, Limited Edition Leopard Egg, £48

This flamboyant take on the Easter classic from Mayfair restaurant Il Gattopardo takes inspiration from the restaurant’s interiors and name, which translates to ‘leopard’. The egg was conceived by the restaurant pastry chef Galileo Reposo and it is made using two different types of chocolate: high quality Italian White chocolate for the first coating and Valrhona Equatorial 55 per cent dark chocolate for the second coating. When the shell is cracked open it reveals small eggs filled with velvety hazelnut, almond and pecan praline.

Available from Il Gattopardo, 27 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London, W1S 4HZ

Läderach, Praline Milk Chocolate Egg (Whole Egg), £69

This Easter confection offers layers of chocolate treats to uncover. First, enjoy the mouth-watering shell which has been made with Läderach milk chocolate and a crunchy croquant decoration. Inside, discover an assortment of pralines that are ideal for sharing – or indulging in alone. The egg is available in a number of sizes and is just one of the many irresistible treats available from this Swiss chocolate house.
