Vermeer Partners avoids putting its clients into a ‘set model’ approach. ‘We give the clients an ongoing narrative as to what we’re doing with their money,’ he says. Clients are kept in regular contact: rather than quarterly updates, they are notified of evey change made to their portfolio. Malpas describes client relationships as a ‘very tight bond’.
‘That really does help you when you go into market situations of the like that we see today,’ he adds.
