Top Recommended Family Lawyers
Charlotte Bradley’s emphasis is on the humanity essential to the family lawyer, and she aims to stay pragmatic, especially when emotions are running high.
‘Of course it’s important that you remain calm and objective like a GP to a certain extent,’ she explains, ‘but you have to have empathy for them [the client] and their situation, otherwise you wouldn’t be a good family lawyer.’
One peer rates Bradley’s ‘excellent client care skills’, while another regards her as ‘an intelligent lawyer who never takes aggressive action unnecessarily’. Bradley is among the more mediation-oriented on this list, especially in one of her areas of expertise, Brussels II, concerning family law cases in EU states. She is also well known for handling financial disputes, as well as for relocation and surrogacy matters.
Sometimes the results surpass her expectations: in a recent case a couple, after going through mediation over children’s proceedings, returned to her for mediation in respect of the financial side.
Praised by contemporaries for her ‘incredibly strong technical skills’, Bradley joined Kingsley Napley from Gordon Dadds in 1997 and became a partner in 2001.
