KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — Malaysia’s largest city Kuala Lumpur has the highest number of millionaires (denominated in US dollars) surpassing all other cities of the world, according to a report by international wealth research group WealthInsight.
Just over 2.5% of the population of Florence has assets worth more than $1 million, according to a Wealth Insight study. The Italian art capital boasts some wealthy residents, but they’re a fraction of those who catapulted Florence’s European rivals further up the top ten.
More than a quarter of a million Londoners are dollar millionaires, even when you exclude the value of their homes – making the capital the third most popular city in the world for high earners.
One in 25 New Yorkers is a millionaire according to a study, which ranked the Big Apple fourth in the top 20 global cities for high earners. Millionaires are defined as individuals with more than $1 million in net assets, excluding a primary residence.
Walk down the street in New York and you’re virtually guaranteed to see several millionaires.
